The in-process linker validates objects, merges canonical sections, resolves strong symbols, applies REL addends and synthesizes the profile entry image. Kernel, user and legacy entry metadata remain distinct.
Validation and failure§
Duplicate strong definitions, undefined symbols, incompatible profiles, unsupported relocations, overflow and malformed metadata leave the destination unchanged.
Evidence and boundary§
Pre-link relocations resolve to a final ET_EXEC with zero remaining fixups, no PT_INTERP and no dynamic dependency.
