INSTALLATION · DBYTE 13.5.0

Install and verify DBYTE

Download a versioned binary package, verify its SHA-256 digest, extract it, then inspect the runtime and frontend status. These instructions describe the sealed software packages, not an operating system installer.

GNU/Linux x86-64

Requires x86-64 GNU/Linux and glibc 2.39 or newer. The package includes dbyte, dbytec, dbtasm, the DByte-written frontend binary and its manifest.

Download Linux TAR.GZ (4,956,958 bytes)

SHA-256: 9523b92b1c49efd76318586dfa7bee06d4448a6cd406daa70f01b1c894a4e826

sha256sum dbyte-v13.5.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
tar -xzf dbyte-v13.5.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
cd dbyte-v13.5.0-linux-x86_64
./dbyte --version
./dbyte frontend status

The version command should report DByte 13.5.0; the frontend status must pass.

Compile a verified fixture

./dbytec build examples/ctfe_pure_fn_v135.dby --target x86_64-dbyte-linux --emit elf --opt-level 1 -o /tmp/ctfe135
/tmp/ctfe135
printf 'exit=%s\n' "$?"

Expected executable exit code: 42.

Windows x64

Download Windows ZIP (4,272,046 bytes)

SHA-256: 6afd9edc7a5456c67b843292ecf4927931dee24e3119a12201dff6fafc76897c

Extract the ZIP into a user-owned directory. In PowerShell, from that extracted directory, check:

.\dbyte.exe --version
.\dbyte.exe frontend status

Verify the downloaded ZIP hash with Get-FileHash .\dbyte-v13.5.0-windows-x64.zip -Algorithm SHA256 before extraction.

Build from source

The native tools are built with Rust; from the matching source tree run cargo build --release --locked --bins. Source builds and the packaged DByte-written lexer sidecar have separate verification requirements.
