V12.0 BASE CONTRACT

DBYTE32

Legacy scalar calls retain their bytes; aggregate calls use aligned copies and hidden result storage.

DByte 12.0 · Systems

Contract§

Hidden parameters are closure environment, sret, then source parameters.

Mechanics§

Legacy scalar DBYTE32 calls retain their physical ABI. Aggregate arguments are aligned caller-created stack copies and aggregate returns use a hidden caller-owned result pointer; hidden order is closure environment, sret, then source parameters.

Validation and failure§

Argument width, caller cleanup, stack alignment and saved-register obligations are checked. C ABI remains separate and rejects DByte aggregate-by-value rules.

Evidence and boundary§

ABI execution tests cover narrow and 32-bit values, aggregate calls/returns, locals across calls and exact ESP/EBP restoration.
