Bare metal
DByte source becomes ET_REL objects, passes through the DByte linker, and executes as a Multiboot i686 kernel.
DByte 12.0 · Systems
Contract§
Bare metal is a profile of the same language.
Mechanics§
Freestanding modules compile to ET_REL, link through the DByte linker and enter a Multiboot ELF32 image. The chain contains no C, Rust or assembly runtime shim for kernel logic.
Validation and failure§
The final image must place a valid header, contain no PT_INTERP/dynamic dependency, resolve all symbols and preserve transactional failure behavior.
Evidence and boundary§
QEMU serial and interrupt traces are authoritative execution gates; object hashes and disassembly prove the image came from DByte-produced inputs.
